About EVOS FILM

EVOS FILM is a Kyiv-based production company founded by two partners, each with nearly twenty years of experience in film, television and advertising.

The company’s focus is split between quality genre films for local audiences and handpicking the most ambitious and passionate directors of the new generation of Ukrainian auteur filmmakers. Its first feature, How Is Katia?, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2022 and won two awards.

EVOS FILM also runs Ukrajina Cinema, which brings contemporary Ukrainian films to cinemas across Germany.

Olha Matat is co-owner and producer at EVOS FILM. She graduated from the producing department of the Ukrainian Film School.

Her first feature, How Is Katia? (director Christina Tynkevych), had its world premiere at the 75th Locarno Film Festival in Concorso Cineasti del presente, winning two awards: Best Actress for Anastasia Karpenko and the Special Jury Prize Ciné+. Supported by the Ukrainian State Film Agency and the Ukrainian Institute, and represented by Coccinelle Film Sales, the film has been selected for more than 30 festivals, including Thessaloniki, Mannheim-Heidelberg and CinEast, where it won the critics’ prize.

Olha is General Producer of the Bobritsa International Film Festival, held in a village near Kyiv. She also organises and curates the Ukrainian Film Days in North Rhine-Westphalia, which take place for the fourth time in 2026. Over the past three years, around 45 Ukrainian films have been shown in 15 cities across NRW, in nearly 100 screenings.
